The Liquid Lipsticks You Need to Try

Liquid lipsticks, and in particular matte liquid lipsticks are by far one of my favourite makeup products on the market. They are my absolute go-to lip product to apply. I wear the odd lipstick, but the staying power of a liquid lipstick and the intense colour they provide, get me every time!

I know there are hundreds of matte/liquid lipsticks on the market and there are also hundreds of brands I am yet to sample – so here’s a few I have tried and tested and want to share with you all.

Too Faced Lipsticks

I can not express my love for the Melted matte lipsticks enough. The formula is super long-lasting, creamy, non-drying and I found it did not flake. I first tried this lipstick when I was going to a wedding, From when I applied around 2pm to when I next applied at 6pm, the lipstick hadn’t moved. The colour had faded slightly in-between times, as I had been drinking, but I could not believe how well it stayed in place. I have the shade ‘Queen B’ at the moment, and I have been eyeing off the shade ‘Cool Girl’ to add to the collection.

The Melted Longwear Lipsticks are also great, they aren’t as long lasting and transfer but they are so easy to apply and leave a lovely stain on your lips when they do wear off. They are also super moisturising, which I find devine. Love love love.

bareMinerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipcolor

Now these are relatively new to the scene and I have been trying them out for a few weeks, and so far sooooo good! They were only released here in Australia in Mecca Maxima stores on 31st of January and I grabbed a few shades as soon as they hit the shelves. Again, I can’t resist a new liquid lipstick formula, especially when it’s a collection of nude lippies!!! Does it really get much better than this?

To sum it up, the formula is super moisturising, goes on smoothly and provides an intense dose of colour for your smackers. The formula does transfer and doesn’t last as long as the Too Faced formula, but it’s still a winner for me. I have the shades ‘BOSS’ and ‘Friendship’ You can purchase here.

Kylie Cosmetics Matte Lip Kits

I only have one shade of the highly coveted range of Jenner’s liquid lipsticks. When I first started my beauty gram, I posted a review about these and it was pretty damn negative. After using this a few more times, I’m really loving. The formula is super-fast drying and I think I made the mistake of applying more layers over a dry layer (big mistake). This caused a lot of flaking and for the application to not last at all and feel uncomfortable on my lips. My top tip is to add a thick layer once and quickly! Now that I have mastered the application, it’s very long-lasting. This formula is quite drying though, so you want to ensure you are putting nice lip balm on post application. You can purchase here

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

These liquid lippies are forever my #rideordie. At $12.95 AUD (at Priceline stores) you can have every colour and they are fantastic quality for the price. They might not have the long-lasting effects of the higher end brands, but serioulsy I can’t recommend them enough.

The NYX Matte Lip Cream in the shade ‘Antwerp’ (not the shade pictured above but one of my favs)

On my TO TRY list are the Colorpop Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks and the new Smashbox Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks.

Let me know if these are any of your favourites or what I have to try in the comments below.

As always, thank you for reading beauties.

The Too Faced Melted Mattes neeeeed to be at the top of your list! I can’t stress this enough, you will love them 🙂 Yeah I bought the Kylie lippie at a shop here and it was ridiculously expensive for a lipstick but I just had to try it and was SOOOO disappointed at how bad it was. But glad I’ve givin it another go as it’s one of my favs now. NYX is just amazing, never let me down!!

Great review Hun! And loved the photos. A swatch looks so different compared to on the lips. I have tried a colourpop ultra Matt and really didn’t like it as it cracked. But I did do two coats so maybe I made the same mistake you made with the kylie one. I will have to give it another go. Xx

Thank you lovely! Yeah i think it gives you a better idea of what the color will look like on. I’ve been hearing this about the Colorpop Matte lippies, definitely putting me off haha. Yeah that could be it, these lipsticks can be so tempramental and need to be applied quickly and once. As always, thank you for reading and commenting. So appreciated!! xx

I need to try Too Faced mattes! And NYX! Definitely on my wish list! I really like the formula of Kylie’s but I’m not a huge fan of Colourpop’s ultra matte lips. My absolute favourite matte liquid lipstick formula has to be BH Cosmetics. So affordable and so comfortable too! Lovely review and swatches xx

Love two faced melted range! And I personally love the Kylie ones the colour is great but yes the key is to apply quickly to begin with and the only touch up when it really wears off. I really need to try bare minerals and NYX heard such good things!
