Healthy Pre or Post Workout Smoothie
I love making smoothies! I’m all about a quick fix either before or after the gym, although I think a nutritious delicious smoothie is also perfection when you need a hit of something a little sweet but still want to keep it healthy (using natural sugars of course!).
I love eating healthy and keeping my snacks or smoothies yummy, interesting and nutritious is super important. A smoothie is definitely one of my favourites, mainly because of how easy they are and how versatile they can be. It really doesn’t matter what you have in your fridge, the combo’s are endless. You can’t really go wrong!
Smoothies also make for a healthy and quick brekky alternative. Chuck all those yummy ingredients in, hit mix, and you can jump in the car to enjoy. Never skip doing your brows again for breakfast!
This recipe will provide the perfect breakfast alternative as the ingredients will keep you fuller for longer. It will also give you a grease dose of greens and fruits to kick start your morning.
The summer heat has also meant blending as many delicious ingredients as I can has become a real staple in my diet. With the addition of ice, a smoothie is the perfect alternative to something sugary.
This recipe has to be my favourite. It’s fun, easy and full of nutrients aimed at keeping you fuller for longer.
- Half of a banana
- Handful of blueberries
- Tablespoon of greek yoghurt
- Squeeze of honey
- Spoonful of chia seeds
- Spoonful of oats
- Two handfuls of spinach
- Two tablespoons of protein of your choosing (I use Bare Blends Vanilla Bean WPI)
- Coconut water (enough to ensure the mixture is watery and mixes well)
- Add strawberries, pineapple or mango for that extra bit of sweetness (basically whatever you have on hand)
- Add some ice
