Bioderma so kindly sent me some goodies from the Atoderm range (their solution for very dry, sensitive skin) and of course their holy grail product, the Sensibio Micellar water. I mean, if you haven’t tried the Bioderma micellar water…I’m not really sure we can be friends anymore. Okay, I’m totally kidding but you really need to get your hands on it ASAP.
Bioderma is well known for its micellar water, but I feel like you guys need to know the brand is so much more and has multiple ranges of incredible products. Anyway dolls, I am getting a little ahead of myself, lemme give you the entire down low. Settle in for a review now that I have had the time to try and test these guys over last month.
Atoderm Shower Gel
Coming into the winter months here in London my skin can definitely start to go on the dry side! I plan to combat those fish like scales this year with Bioderma’s super refreshing shower gel whichleaves my skin feeling moisturised and soft. This formula really helps to eliminate that feeling of tightness my skin can succumb to in the cooler months, whilst gently cleansing & soothing. I use this daily and can’t fault for price point and quality. I have also read many reviews which hail this for sensitive skin. I don’t have overly sensitive skin, but for you guys that do, sounds like a great bonus!
Ultra Nourishing Balm & Cream
I have used the balm before and really did like it. The formula is targeted for that next level, severe skin dryness. I’m talking middle of winter scaly and tight skin that is in desperate need of a tall drink of water. Whilst my skin has never been that dry, I still found it great on my skin. The only aspect I didn’t love about the product was the thickness of the balm (shock a balm having a thick texture) as it doesn’t absorb into the skin very quickly, the formula tends to sit on top of the skin for quite some time. Apart from that, I can’t fault it.
If you are into the science, the balm has vitamin PP and nourishing agents which biologically repair and strengthen the altered skin barrier by supplying essential lipids and stimulating their production. The patented Ecodéfensine complex maintains a healthy cutaneous flora thanks to its regulating action.
The cream is probably much better if you don’t have extreme dry skin issues and for this reason I do prefer it. This formula is targeted towards normal to dry skin types. Again a lovely formula that soaks into the skin well and has a light, refreshing feel on the skin.
Sensibio Micellar Water
Now onto the cult-favourite,..I mean it’s sold somewhere in the world once every two seconds for a reason. So for anyone who is new to the word micellar and is thinking what the actual effff…let me tell you a little about this concept.
Micellar water uses light oils to break down dirt, makeup, and grime, in order to leave skin fresh, hydrated, and glowing.
I have re-purchased this water more times than I can possibly count and rate it as the best skincare product I have ever used. The micellar gently cleanses the face and eyes. It removes eye-makeup whilst moisturising the skin and specifically removes water resistant mascara incredibly well, much better than any other micellar water I have tested on the market.
My eyes can be super sensitive and other products can make them sting when removing makeup, but the Sensibio H20 is so gentle and smooth, I never experience redness or irritation. This stuff is iconic for a very good reason.
One thing to note is that I do not rely solely on this product to cleanse my face. It’s more of a pre-cleanse to remove the makeup and grime from the day. If you want to delve into the world of micellar waters, I can attest to the fact this is a really great place to start.
Let me know if you have tried or plan to try out some of these skincare greats!
